Research and Training

The Research and Training Committee’s role is to meet the information needs of the chapter in support of the project teams.  We arrange chapter presentations; facilitate training workshops; conduct research, technology evaluation and prototyping projects; and maintain a small library of technical information.

Training Workshops

The R&T Committee plans hands-on training workshops to educate members on technology and topics applicable to sustainable development.  A list of Past and Recurring Workshops is available.  Future workshops will be posted on the Upcoming Events section of the Chapter website.

Chapter Meeting Presentations

The R&T Committee works with the Executive Committee to schedule speakers for General Chapter Meetings.  If you have an idea for a speaker at a future meeting, please contact us at research@ewb-chicago.org.

Research, Technology Evaluations and Prototyping Projects

The R&T Committee conducts research projects, technology evaluations and prototyping projects in support of the EWB-USA Chicagoland Professional Chapter.  Some completed research can be accessed via Additional Resources.

Book Exchange

The EWB-USA Chicagoland Professional Chapter maintains a small library of books and disks related to appropriate technology, sustainable engineering and international development.  If you are interested in borrowing something, contact us at research@ewb-chicago.org.
